Welp, the latest iteration of Mike Barrette's eponymous website launched this week to meager fanfare among the few faithful followers that were barely aware of the non-event. Whether this lightly disguised apathy was a calculated ploy aimed at the hoi polloi to underplay the undersell, or simply evidence of a magnificent experiment gone wrong, may be briefly debated in some circles, but forgotten by morning. Meanwhile, the early reviews suggest a mildly enjoyable experience overall, with some even expressing interest in revisiting "in a few weeks, maybe, if I think of it."

Others had this to say...

"The family and I have been thoroughly enjoying exploring the different boxes, and have been consistently satisfied with the level of cleanliness and care to detail seen throughout the site. Both my partner and I visited many years ago, but we don't even recognize the place from before!  It's clear that a great deal of effort went into the complete overhaul and transformation of what was basically a cute artist's portfolio into an extended narrative complex. Recommended for anyone with some time to kill at the checkout line."

"There are portfolio sites and there are art sites and this is somewhere in-between. Whether that's a good or bad thing is hard to say without absorbing more of the content it has to offer, but having seen previous iterations, I'm glad to see Mr. Barrette has finally broken free of the more earnest conventions that come with self-promotion. There is a greater confidence evident in the presentation just by the lack of over-explanation prevalent in previous sites. On the other hand, the more casual story-telling device used in a few of the projects helps bring a little life to what is ultimately fairly dry process documents."

"Yeah so, I don't know how I got here exactly, but it's pretty cool, I guess. The artwork is awesome, but I don't get the instructions. Where's the lobby? I usually love games like this, but I can't even figure out where to start."

"ANSWER YOUR CELL! I've been trying to get through but no one is picking up their phone or answering texts. What's going on over there, you launched without me?? It looks great, but there are still some major changes you haven't addressed, such as the [REDACTED]
