Linework
I marvel at the patience I had at one time to create pencil drawings at such scale. These days I might draw a quick sketch before bringing it into Photoshop, but 90% of the work is digital. I would create endless overlays, sometimes with full detail, before calling it finished. Each of these drawings are at minimum, the fifth or sixth iteration.
Drawings are all pencil on either vellum or architectural trace paper.
